It has become a tradition each year to drop the pineapple in downtown Sarasota. New Years Eve is celebrated everywhere across the world, and Sarasota is no exception.

This year we plan on taking the biggest New Years party and making it better. We are bringing in a new lineup of great live music and electronic music and signature Pineapple Drop drinks as part of the biggest an best downtown NYE party Sarasota has ever seen!

The drop is happening in the heart of downtown at Main and Lemon with the party stretching all downtown Sarasota along Mainstreet and Lemon Avenue and State Street.

During the day, the event includes family friendly activities including carnival rides, music and entertainment. At nightfall there will be live music and entertainment including some of the best local and national brands and DJ’s on 4 stages and the infamous Pineapple Drip at midnight. Drinks and food are available on the street, as well as nearby local restaurants and bars.

The event is free to the public. The event is funded primarily through sponsors and donors. The Pineapple Drip has brought over 25,000 people each year to Downtown Sarasota to celebrate New Years Eve and help support local businesses located downtown.
