Six Really Rad Things To Do In Sarasota This Weekend

Six Really Rad Things To Do In Sarasota This Weekend

By February 28, 2014 No Comments

In case you haven’t been outside AT ALL in the last week, you should know that this weekend’s weather is going to be really, really awesome.  I keep hearing things about polar vortices in the Midwest and California rainstorms and I think to myself that it must really suck for those guys; what an incredible place we live in which our winter attire includes wearing socks under our sandals.  In the interest of snickering a little on the inside while they suffer up north, here are six really awesome things you can do outside this weekend:

Party Hard At Rubonia’s Mardi Gras.

Never heard of Rubonia?  I can promise you this: if you go this weekend, you’ll never forget it.  Rubonia’s Mardi Gras is one of Manatee County’s biggest parties and it lives up to its name: expect lots of drinking and a little debauchery.  There’s a parade at 2:00 PM but the fun goes on all day long.

Chill Out At The Siesta Key Drum Circle.

This one’s actually a weekly attraction but it should be VERY special this weekend with tons of sunshine and temps in the mid-70s.  It’s a completely free event and it’s easy to find – just go to Siesta Beach’s main entrance and follow the scent of patchouli.  Or listen for the tribal beats flowing over the water :)

Take Me Out To A Baltimore Orioles Spring Training Game.

It’s that time again – MLB teams from around the continent have converged on Florida and you can find a ballgame on any given day.  Toronto visits our home team tomorrow as the Orioles go for 1, 2, 3 strikes, they’re out.

This home is so clean I think there must be little elves who come along after the owners go to work to clean up!  It’s within walking distance of shopping and restaurants and Palmer Oaks is one of Palmer Ranch’s newest communities.

Looking for an affordable, gorgeous newer home in a great neighborhood? Located just minutes to downtown Bradenton, this home is simply immaculate and has plenty of room for everyone.  It’s unbelievable that it hasn’t sold yet.

… And Now The Reason You’re REALLY Reading!

I’m not quite sure who’s job it is to make fat CGI animals and see how they’d act in the wild but I’m pretty glad someone decided to pick up the slack – the Internet is a pretty incredible place.  This one’s a must-see.
